Regency Veneers Ltd is a close knit family run business that has been supplying Quality Veneering to the Trade for over 30 years. ESTABLISHED SINCE 1977
Tom Davis, Managing Director Tom gained his early veneering skills at the heart of the North East London furniture during the 1950s. In 1977, with the benefit of 30 years experience working to a senior level in the trade, he decided to set up his own small veneer shop. He gradually expanded the business, extending his premises, acquiring new plant, and employing a workforce. Tom maintains an active role in the business on a consultancy, training and quality level.
Kerry Davis, Director Kerry is Tom's son and he joined the Company in 1980. Through his close working with Tom across almost 30 years, he has developed an excellent skillset that enables him to manage the factory nowadays. His longstanding good relationships with wide ranging suppliers ensures the Company has access to the best materials available.
Lily Davis, Company Secretary Tom's wife Lily initially managed the books on a casual basis, but as the business expanded, she had to leave her banking employment to take on the office duties full time. Although Lily and Tom's daughter Glyn now manages the books and accounts, Lily still looks after the office and is involved with pricing and invoicing.
Craig Jeffery Craig, Tom's eldest grandson, is 3rd generation family to work in the business and started from school 10 years ago. He supports Kerry in the running of the factory and has a keen interest in the research and development of new products and services.
It is testament to the happy and professional working environment at the factory that other key workers are also very experienced members of the team, each with more than 20 years service.
PERSONAL SERVICE
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Over the years, the Company has extended its services to adapt to the demands of a changing marketplace. This has included working with a broad range of materials, from the most complex and specialist veneers to more straightforward finishes.
In the early days, the Company specialised in reproduction panels for Dynatron and MacIntosh furniture which involved the traditional skills required for detailed inlay work. There followed a fashion for tambour doors on office furniture, and also great demand for large quantity, high quality speakers for Mission and Kef. Most recently, modern designs tend to incorporate solid lipped edging with some curved lines to furnish London offices, the Docklands and Thames riverside development market, and high end kitchens and bedrooms.
Examples of Regency Veneers' work can be found in branches of Coutt's Bank, Business and First Class airport lounges, luxury hotels, the Earl and Countess of Wessex's bathroom, former Russian president Vladimir Putin's private plane, and the recent Grand Designs exhibition at EXCEL in London.
